We are known as a hiking troop, but we are so much more. Troop 719 participates in community service projects such as:
VFW Gravesite Clean-up: Held annually on the Saturday morning of Memorial Day weekend, Troop 719 and Troop 310G along with Troop 683 and Pack 863 meet at Green Hills Memorial Park, to honor our fallen veterans of VFW Post 1961, based out of the Gardena Valley JCI, who are laid to rest. Scouts attend to assigned gravesites, clean off their sites and honor their service to our country with an American flag and a proper salute.
Matsuri of Faith Bake Sale, supporting our charter organization, Faith United Methodist Church Torrance.
Festival set-up at the Gardena Valley Japanese Cultural Institute.
Thanksgiving Meal Prep: Our scouts gather the evening before Thanksgiving to cook a Thanksgiving feast for 2 families in need, and deliver to their homes Thanksgiving morning.
Master's Kitchen: A meal program based out of Faith United Methodist Church Torrance, which provides meals to our underserved community members.
Toys 4 Tots: In the days leading up to Christmas, scouts buy new toys from a local business, and deliver them to the fire station participating in the Toys 4 Tots program.
VFW Post 1961 gravesite cleaning and flag placement, Green Hills Memorial Park.
After buying toys for donation, Troop 719 delivers them at a fire station in Gardena.
