Troop 37 usually attend Summer Camp at Camp Blackhawk, part of the Owasippe Scout Reservation in Twin Lakes, Michigan. See here for links and general Owasippe info:
BSA Forms A, B and C your family may have completed these during troop registration - all parts, including Med Form C signed by your Scout's pediatrician are required for Summer Camp
In early spring each year, the Troop Outings Coordinator will give Scouts Owasippe merit badge request forms so you can request badge sessions that interest you the most!
Adult chaperones & drivers are always needed. Please see the Scoutmaster, Committee Chair or Outings Coordinator if you can help for part or all of Summer Camp week
The Council camping webpages are here for all sorts of background and info (please do NOT register for camp directly through the Council website - the troop coordinates all summer camp forms and registrations) - note, the troop has additional costs + some badges and camp activities have out of pocket costs above the basic camp fee so check the Troop Camp Registration forms for all Troop 37 summer camp fees
If you are at all concerned about costs, Camperships (camp scholarships) are available for those seeking financial assistance. The troop leaders encourage all Scouts to attend this amazing Summer Camp experience so please don't let cost be a concern. Please reach out to the Scoutmaster and/or Committee Chair by mid-March about Camperships since the Council deadline for requests is usually April 1st. Campership applications are available on the PTAC website.
There is a lot of information to take in about Camp Owasippe. The first, and most important, thing you should know about camp is how fun it is and what a great experience it is for your scout.
There will also be more detailed meetings as we get closer (what to pack, what not to pack, etc.) Additionally, you are welcome to ask questions at any of our regular meetings. Just ask any troop leader and we'll be happy to chat about Summer Camp!
