Summer Camp at Resica Falls, Sunday, June 28 – Saturday, July 4
The cost of the camp is $645 for the week, this will include transportation to and from the camp, a summer camp troop shirt, food, merit badges, pretty much everything.
The Payment schedule is as follows:
February 1 - $100
March 31 - $150
May 15 - $395
Both our troop and Cradle of Liberty have camperships available for families that need them, just reach out if you have questions.
You can go to https://resicafalls.org/history to see more about the camp. It looks pretty amazing. Our troop attended this camp 5 years ago and it more than lived up to its hype. They offer tons of merit badges, and other adventures including ATV classes (for 14 year olds and up), cliff jumping into a river, hiking, fishing, shooting sports, canoeing on the Delaware. It is going to be a blast!
In addition to scouts signing up for camp, I need to know which adults are interested in attending and how many scouts they would be able to drive up and back to camp. It would be preferable if you have access to a large car that can fit 7-8 people. If there are 2 adults that would be interested in splitting a week, that would be possible. We will most likely need people that are willing to drive, but might not be able to stay over.
Welcome Back Troop Activity (IronPigs Game), Sunday, August 30
We will attend an IronPigs Game as a welcome back activity in August. If you have never been to a professional baseball game, this is a fantastic first experience. We will be joining with Pack 137 for a great time. This is the BEST way to experience professional baseball, the seats are close, the food is reasonably priced and it is a short drive. Everyone is invited, this is a family event, bring your parents, grandparents, siblings, cousins, friends, etc. We would love to have 100 people in our group.
Location: Lehigh Valley IronPigs Stadium, Coca Cola Park, 1050 IronPigs Way, Allentown
Arrival time: Game starts at 1:05 pm. Meet at the Stadium.
Depature time: When the game is over.
Uniform: Class B's
Cost: $13 (includes a $2 credit at the concession stand)
Bring: Hat, Sunscreen.
Deadline to sign up: July 25th
Lehigh Valley Bike Train and Camping, Friday, September 18th – Sunday, September 20
Location: Lehigh Gorge State Park (Biking), Hickory Run State Park (Camping)
Cost: $45 pp (for the train and the camp site), add $30 if you need to rent a bike.
Come ride with us through the beautiful Lehigh River Gorge. This is one of our most popular camping trips. The bike ride is 25 miles. We load our bikes on the bike train in Jim Thorpe and ride the train to White Haven. You’ll ride along the slight downhill grade of an abandoned railroad bed for 25 miles and follow the river all the way through the Lehigh Gorge State Park on the D&L Trail back to Jim Thorpe.
As you pedal at your own pace, you will see fantastic rock formations, tumbling waterfalls and abundant wildlife. We will stop for a picnic at one of the little picnic stops along the trail, explore the ruined locks of the former Lehigh Canal, or marvel at the Penn Haven Planes – a relic from the early railroad era.
Sunday morning, we will hike over to the Boulder Field to check that out before heading home.
Bring: Class B uniform, bike and helmet, water bottle, sunscreen, hat, weather-appropriate clothing/gear, scout manual
Sign-up by Thursday, Sept. 3.
