World Thinking Day is a day where Girl Scouts and Girl Guides around the world celebrate International Friendship. The official date is February 22nd, and celebrations are typically scheduled near that date. The activities planned for this take are designed to allow the girls to explore culture, as well as learn about issues that impact girls and women around the world.
Every year, Troop 902 participates in a World Thinking Day celebration on or about Feb 22nd.
Every year, WAGGGs releases a new theme:
2019 focused on LEADERSHIP
2020 focused on DIVERSITY, EQUITY, and INCLUSION
2021 is focused on PEACEBUILDING
2022 is focused on the ENVIRONMENT
World Thinking Day 2023 will be memorable on many fronts. In addition to exploring new cultures, Troop 902 will be exploring new ways to bring the message of World Thinking Day to others, while also focusing on WAGGGS' theme.
The following is a simple outline that Troop 902 uses to plan their World Thinking Day events.
To make the event "Girl Led", provide the outline to the girls, and have them discuss the plans.
In picking the countries - Girls can nominate countries, and lobby for their country. Girls can vote.
