We did it! FTC Poweplay has finally come to an end. We congratulate all of the Iowa teams that made it to worlds- the competition was tough and they put up a good fight. This year has been both challenging and rewarding for our team, but we wouldn't have it any other way.

"The West High FTC robotics team, Trobotix 8696, participated in the Iowa State FTC Competition in Coralville on February 23-24. They were one of the 48 best teams in Iowa to compete at this competition and the only team from Iowa City."

"The West High School FTC robotics team, Trobotix 8696, participated in the Super Qualifier tournament in Davenport on Feb. 10th. They were one of two Iowa City teams to advance to this competition, alongside with one Southeast team."

"On Saturday, October 21st, the West High Trobotix 8696 team went to Norway, Iowa for their first competition of the 2017-2018 season. They competed against many other schools and won 5 out of 10 possible ranking points. The West High FTC team is looking to mimic and transcend their success from last year when they were only one step away from reaching the FTC World Championship."

WEST SIDE STORY —  2/27/2017

"The West High Robotics team came out of the state competition on Feb. 26 with a win. The team is the captain of the Winning Alliance, also known as the champions of the whole tournament. They also won a special recognition, the Control Award, for their programming.

This makes them one of only 14 teams in the state of Iowa (out of about 280) who will be advancing to the North Super-Regional Tournament at the end of March at the Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids."

WEST SIDE STORY —  1/24/2017

"The West High robotics team went to competition in Cedar Falls on Saturday, Jan. 21. West was a member of the winning alliance, meaning they were part of the three highest scoring teams overall.

They also won the Inspire Award, which is the highest recognition given at an FTC tournament. This award recognizes excellence in all elements of the competition and team performance, as well as the robot’s success."
