Unit 6: Human Anatomy & Physiology
Students will build on work done in earlier grades. They will be able to identify the name and function of key bones and muscles in the human body. They will be able to describe the function of the nervous system and identify the component parts.
Students will be able to identify the parts of the endocrine system and their functions. They will be able to compare and contrast the workings of the nervous and endocrine systems. Students will learn basics about hormonal and physical changes inherent to humans as they mature.
Lastly, students will learn how organ systems work together for necessary functions within the body. Each lesson will be covered over a period of two days to ensure scholars' comprehension and understanding of the material.
