In the book power can be a good thing but most of the time it creates self absorbed people that love themselves more than they love other people. In this part of my website i will be explaining power. Now, power can mean a lot of different things so in the next few chapters i will be showing you a couple of examples of power that come up in the book quite frequently. One of them being Zaphod Beeblebrox and his power of being president of the galaxy.

One of them being Zaphod Beeblebrox and his power of being president of the galaxy.
Zaphod Beeblebrox is the president of the galaxy so as you can imagine he has lots of power. One of his favourite things to do is watch himself on TV and in the book he is laying on his couch scrolling through channels just trying to find something about him. The power that Zaphod has makes him very self absorbed so he does not think about anyone but himself. This is probably the worst type of power you can have because you become very self absorbed. Zaphod stole the most valuable ship in the galaxy just to get more famous than he already was.

Vogos have a lot of power, they have enough power to blow up a planet and guess what, they did. They blew up Earth, our planet. You wanna know what is even worse, Zaphod Beeblebrox approved the plans thinking that a fan just wanted an autograph. The Vogons have access to billions of other Vogons and ships with supercharged lasers and that is what allows them to blow up worlds. They actually blew up earth for a bypass to be built.

Power comes in all different shapes and sizes weather you are the president of the galaxy or the owner of a small restaurant you still have some power. As you have read the Vogons and Zaphod have a lot of power but as the great spider man once said "With great power comes great responsibility". I hope you learned that everyone has some power not just famous people.
