I'm staring intently at the resources display accompanying the water conservation booth at the town's biggest event of the year, Celebrate Prosper. While I felt the kids' and their parents' confused stares on me, I still continued my analysis because I knew I needed thorough, specific knowledge on the water shortage issue in our town — something that wasn't covered much anywhere else but still affected residents like my family directly.
Feature stories allow me to connect with readers on a much deeper level than any other type of publication. Having the honor of sharing the hard work and passion of students in my school and members in my community is what gives me a purpose to continue sharing the unique culture and values my school and town brings. Some show their community pride through articles of clothing or attending community events. I show my pride through my in-depth features on lifestyles and topics distinctive to the town (plus all of the above).

This was the first article I wrote for our magazine, and it uncovered a side to this teacher that was previously unknown. At this point, I has only talked to her once before, but I wondered about her personality, passions, and background. That might have sounded strange to others, but if was just curiosity to me. And that curiosity was cured when I interviewed her and asked these sorts of questions. In this case, curiosity didn't kill the cat — the cat instead grew courage to learn others' stories to help them feel heard and wanted.

The phrase "Let Water Prosper" became ingrained in my head as I was doing research for this in-depth feature on water conservation. Every time it ringed in my head, I was reminded of the importance of the awareness I was spreading on this underreported issue. My sources, which included Water Conservation Coordinator Lauren Kraus and Parks and Recreation Director Dan Baker, were so willing to help me with this article, allowing all the information I wrote in it to be factually correct and easily accessible to the average reader.

The creators of this chatbot named Edgy, Yunjae Park and Ron Minin, actually reached out to me first when they came across our online website and clicked on my staff profile. Their story was one-of-a-kind and my article emphasized that through showcasing their backgrounds and the process behind creating this AI innovation. In fact, the pair received more recognition for their work with this and it helped increase their followers on their official account — a fact that they later emailed to me about, which reignited my love for sharing Prosper High students' passions in this way.
