Triptych is building an archive of strange, gothic speculative work. While digital copies of (most) everything will be available in some way, shape, or form, we also want to leave detailed records of what exactly we are publishing, and who we are publishing. To that end, we have compiled this list below. 

About The Founding Editor

Carston is currently an Associate Member of the National Coalition of Independent Scholars while he finishes a Masters degree at the University of Massachusetts Boston. From 2025-2026 he received two Brian Rattigan Scholarships in Creative Writing. On rare occasion he publishes his own creative work. Some of his previous and unrelated fiction has been archived in his university Special Collections. Carston spends most of his time writing and publishing on archival studies, small press ecosystems, and science fiction studies. 

His independent research on archival studies and small press ecosystems has appeared in Esoterica Magazine, The American Printing History Association, and his essay Archives for everyone(?) is forthcoming in Antae in September, 2026. 

He runs Triptych, which is the only confirmed still active print journal at UMass Boston. After his graduation, Carston intends for Triptych to continue as a fully independent press rather than an independent student-run publication at UMass.
