Unlike most universities, we don't have Areas of Study, we have Discipleship Programs. We have taken the innovation of global technology to help us in reclaiming our historical mathéteuó way of learning.
The word "Disciple in found in the New Testament is the Greek word μαθητής [mathētḗs]. To be a disciple is defined by scholars as:
[a learner or pupil] or [a student, follower; a committed learner] (Strong’s #3101 - Μαθητής - Old & New Testament Greek Lexical Dictionary - StudyLight.org, n.d.).
In Matthew 28, known commonly as the great commission, Jesus said; "Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age,” (Matt 28:19-20, CSB).
Since Jesus issued the Great Commission, the call to make disciples of all nations has echoed throughout the history of Christianity. Over the centuries, discipleship has taken various forms, from a rabbi-like mentorship within local communities to global missionary endeavors spanning continents. As globalization advanced, so did the methods of equipping and training disciples. The advent of the internet revolutionized communication and education, paving the way for online discipleship to emerge as a potent tool for spreading the Gospel. This digital evolution has democratized access to theological resources, enabling aspiring student-disciples from diverse backgrounds to engage in rigorous training and mentorship, transcending geographical barriers and fostering a global community united in faith and mission.
