Trainees may attend courses offered throughout the year:

SYNCHRONOUS TRAINING
RANK QUALIFICATION COURSES
Offered synchronously, Officers must successfully attend these live-instruction on-line courses, and achieve a pass mark greater than 80% or greater to be considered as having completed the requirements of the course. A successful completion of the course does not automatically qualifies a trainee for promotion.
To be promoted, a trainee must:
Successfully complete the Rank Qualification Course
Achieve a pass mark greater than 80%
Complete the required time-in-rank as per NL 8
Submit a complete NL 304, signed by the Branch President, to your DSO.
POSITION QUALIFICATION COURSES:
Offered in a synchronous manner, these live-instructor on-line courses will qualify trainees for positions within the corps, such as Admin, Supply and Command.
A successful completion of these courses does not guarantee the trainee a position at their home corps nor does it qualify a trainee for rank promotion.
To be qualified, a trainee must:
Successfully complete the qualification course for the position they seek
Achieve a pass mark of 80% or above.
