Mileage club is a running and walking program during school recess that promotes healthy behaviors that can last a lifetime. This program encourages positive attitudes about running, walking, and an overall healthy lifestyle. Students receive a card to keep track of how many laps and miles they complete. Every student will have a card on file. Each time a student completes 3 miles they will earn a token. Tokens are small, colorful, plastic feet or objects that students proudly display on a chain or lanyard they receive with their first token. Lost tokens or broken chains cannot be replaced. Students earn a special shapes token when their mileage totals reach the following levels:
- 12 Mile Club - 24 Mile Club - 36 Mile Club - 48 Mile Club - 60 Mile Club
Mileage Club is a great way to get the blood flowing and help students be ready for their educational day. Mileage Club will start Tuesday, September 3rd. Students can participate in mileage club on Tuesdays during their first recess. Good running shoes and water bottles will be helpful to your Child.
Students with high mileage will earn awards and be recognized school-wide.
This program is not mandatory. Students, teachers, and school volunteers are encouraged to participate to help create across grade level community at Tres Volcanes.
