The European project TREASURES - STORRYTELLERS ACROSS EUROPE, with the code number 2020-1-EL01-KA229-078992, was funded by the Greek National Agency IKY and the Erasmus+ program of the European Union. The program unites Greece, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania and Turkey in a common European vision. Schools, students and teachers work together in an effort to highlight local and national cultural heritage through interdisciplinary programs, teaching practices, cultural activities, group activities, lesson plans, theatrical performances and digital storytelling.
The idea behind the project lies in the EU initiative European Heritage Days. EHD are the most widely celebrated participatory cultural events shared by people living in Europe. EHD, as a joint action of the Council of Europe and the European Commission, represent a unique example of a grass-roots initiative organised and shared by millions of European citizens. As organizers of a project involving European cultural heritage, we would like to share our project results with the rest of Europe, through storytelling (oral, digital, visual).
This project is also created taking into account the need of schools from 6 different countries to ensure social inclusion for all their pupils, to give them the opportunity to get in contact with parents, grandparents and the elderly who live in their local area and children from other European countries.
