George H. Conner, P.E. has had a distinguished career in several leadership positions at the Alabama Department of Transportation since 1992, including Deputy Director of Operations and State Maintenance Engineer. He also chairs AASHTO’s Committee on Maintenance, providing national level leadership. He had also served as an officer in the Air Force for four years at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio.
George Hearn, Ph.D., George works in design, repair, and preservation of highway bridges. George Hearn was principal investigator for NCHRP project 14-36; the project that produced guides to bridge preservation, and bridge deck preservation. The guides were adopted by AASHTO. George Hearn teaches at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
