This was one of the first trips I took with Feluda. My desire to go to Lucknow peaked when I read Badshahi Angti or the Emperor’s Ring, one of Feluda’s earliest novels. This novel follows the story of Feluda and Topshe (this is before they met Jatayu) in Lucknow, where they are on a family vacation. Feluda get’s involved in the case of a stolen ring which once belonged to Mughal Emperor Aurangazeb. The hook of the story lies in the fact that Feluda had removed it from the safe himself, after the first attempt of the ring being stolen, and had hidden it in one of the lamp holders at Lucknow’s Bara Imambara.
The photograph is of me and my mother on the roof of the Bara Imambara.
