We visited Ajanta and Ellora, a series of caves that date back to the 12th century and remain one of the most spectacular spaces of Indian Art, in 2010. It was a trip that was highly inspired by the Feluda adventure to this place, where the trio travel to catch a smuggler who had vandalised a stone idol from the Rajarani Temple in Bhubaneswar and was planning to vandalise the stone caves of Ellora as well. The novel has been made into a movie too, which was released in 2007. It remains one of the more memorable trips of my life.Â
The photograph is of me with my entire family on the second floor of a two-storied cave. This image also captures three generations of embodied fandom and of memory making.
