7.40 am Took a shared auto from the Railway Station to KSRTC Bus Stand (Rs 20). Jod Gumbaz is a five minute walk from the bus stand.
Jod Gumbaz is a complex of two tombs located in Bijapur ... it contains the tombs of Khan Muhammad and his spiritual advisor Abdul Razzaq Qadiri ... Khan Muhammad "the traitor" was a military commander in service of the Adil Shahis, and had been bribed into switching allegiances in favour of the Mughals ... The tomb of Abdul Razzaq Qadiri, who was Khan Muhammad's spiritual advisor was also built around the same time ... A smaller mausoleum located towards the west of the Jod Gumbaz is the burial place of Sidi Rehan wiki
About 400 yards to the east of Mecca Gate, are two domes, which on account of their close proximity and likeness to each other are called Jod-Gumbaz. The floors of both the tombs are at a very considerable elevation above the surrounding ground level, being built upon the ground rather than beneath its surface, as is the case in most of the tombs. source
I've been told that even though the two monuments are quite near each other they have been placed such that the shadow of one never falls on the other.
Difficult to photograph both monuments together ;-)

8.30 am Walked to Taj Bawdi. Just 5 minute walk west of Jod Gumbaz. This site is not open to visitors. You can get a better view of this stepwell by walking to its west boundry wall (pics below).
This, the largest tank in Bijapur,is situated in the west of the town near the Makka gate. The entrance to the tank, facing the north, is spanned by a high arch 35 feet across. Upon either side of this, and standing forward, is a two-storeyed octagonal tower surmounted by a dome. East and west of these run long arcades which were intended for the accommodation of travelers.

8.48 am Walked to Mecca Gate. Just 5 minute walk. west of Taj Bawdi.
It's not possible to get to this gate, AFAIK. There are structures (encroachments ?) all around it. I could only view it from the road through a locked gate.
