Vijayapura (formerly Bijapur) is a heritage city in the state of Karnataka, India. Vijayapura is renowned  for its historical monuments of architectural importance built during the rule of the Adil Shahi dynasty (the 16th and 17th century) - the more well-known of which are Gol Gumbaz, Ibrahim Roza and Jamiya Masjid.

Exploring all the historical sites in Vijayapura, including some that are in ruins, requires several days. This website is more of a travel diary than a traditional travel guide. Every time I visit Vijayapura I will update this site.
