The purpose of ACE screening is to rapidly identify which children are at highest risk for toxic stress and perform the next steps of a more complete, individualized assessment for each of them. Next steps could include a family referral to an external resource.
In a community setting, screening for ACEs will enable the program to tailor supports to best address trauma using a community approach.
