About us

Roxana Chiappa and Iris Viveros identify as early-career transnational academics from the Global South. The two authors started their academic journeys in different spaces: Iris as an undocumented student in the USA coming from Mexico and Roxana as an international student in the USA coming from Chile. We shared an understanding of how the different manifestations of colonization in our early stages of socialization as well as later in our career have deeply affected our options and experiences of transnational academic mobility.
