This photo....widely known,  of the 1954 Ed Wolf flip and disintergration of his stock car happened on the front stretch of the Roosevelt Stadium.  Thankfully, his safety equipment...crude and archaic next to todays standards, held true and more than likely saved his life.  The same can not be said about his racing machine!
