What's Toastmasters?

Toastmasters International is a nonprofit educational organization that teaches public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of clubs. Headquartered in Englewood, Colo., the organization's membership exceeds 364,000 in more than 16,200 clubs in 145 countries. Since 1924, Toastmasters International has helped people from diverse backgrounds become more confident speakers, communicators, and leaders. In Japan, more than 200 clubs are active now. Many of them conduct their meetings in English, but some clubs use other languages such as Japanese, Chinese, French, and so on.

トーストマスターズはアメリカ・コロラド州に本部を置き、パブリックスピーキングとリーダーシップを学ぶ国際的な非営利教育団体です。世界145カ国で16,200以上のクラブが活動し、国籍や人種・宗教など多様なバックグラウンドを持つ約364,400人のメンバーが活動を行っています。1924年の創立以来、スピーチをはじめリーダーシップやコミュニケーションのスキルの向上や学びの場を提供しています。日本では200以上のクラブが活動し、英語のほかに日本語・中国語・フランス語などのクラブがあります。
