Background

Amlan is a third-class coastal municipality in Negros Oriental, Central Visayas, Philippines. Located 21 kilometers north of Dumaguete City, the provincial capital, Amlan serves as a gateway to the northern part of Negros Oriental. Spanning 111.85 square kilometers (43.19 square miles), the town accounts for 2.06% of the province’s total land area.

Demographics

As of the 2020 Census, Amlan has a total population of 25,513, representing 1.78% of Negros Oriental’s total population. With a population density of 228 inhabitants per square kilometer (591 inhabitants per square mile), Amlan maintains a balance between urban development and natural landscapes.
