District Partnership
Tots In Toyland is proud to partner with the New Paltz Central School District as an approved Community-Based Organization (CBO). This partnership allows us to offer the New York State-funded Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) program, a high-quality, free educational opportunity for eligible four-year-olds in our community.
As a CBO partner, our facility and curriculum are regularly monitored by the District to ensure the highest standards of safety, quality, and alignment with the New Paltz educational mission.
Meet Our Teachers
Our teachers are more than just educators, they are guides, nurturers, and lifelong learners. We are dedicated to creating a 'home-away-from-home' where your child feels seen, heard, and celebrated every single day.
The Flow of Our Day
Our routine provides a consistent "rhythm" that gives children a sense of security and belonging. While we remain flexible to follow the interests of our students, a typical day includes:
Responsive Classroom Morning Meeting: We begin each day together to build social-emotional skills, empathy, and classroom community.
Choice Time (1 Hour): The heart of our day, where children lead their own discovery in centers dedicated to art, building, science, and dramatic play.
Movement & Recess: We prioritize physical health with a dedicated lunch and 30 minutes of daily recess (20 minutes standard plus 10 minutes of extra recess).
Enrichment: Specialized activities and Specials are integrated throughout our 6-day cycle.
Ending Meeting: We gather one last time to reflect on our day, share successes, and prepare for a smooth transition home.
