Tony has been a qualified First Aid Instructor since 2010, and an approved trainer with WorkSafe Training Systems since 2012. His background in teaching is wide-ranging — from delivering control & restraint training for prison staff, to teaching learner drivers, coaching and assessing fleet drivers, running bushcraft sessions with young people, leading Duke of Edinburgh's Award groups, and directing Mountain Training’s Lowland Leader Award courses.
Since 2010, Tony has also volunteered as a Community First Responder with his local ambulance service. Over 15 years, he has attended thousands of 999 emergencies, including cardiac arrests, strokes, breathing difficulties, severe allergic reactions, chest pains, collapses, heavy bleeds, diabetic emergencies, choking, and seizures along with attending traumatic calls involving falls and equestrian incidents.
This first hand emergency experience gives him a unique ability to bring first aid training to life — sharing practical, real-world knowledge that goes far beyond the textbook.
Tony’s teaching style is often described as:
Relaxed, engaging, and immersive
Professional and structured
Personable and approachable
Always open to questions (there are no “stupid” questions!)
Using the proven WorkSafe Training Systems scheme of learning, Tony blends clear theory with plenty of hands-on practice. Training sessions are scenario-based, helping learners gain confidence and apply their skills effectively in real situations.
