This work emerges from an engagement with experimental graphic notation, drawing on Cornelius Cardew’s Scratch Music, John Cage’s Notations, and Rachel Barron’s Playing the Architecture. Using the SAP5 studio as both instrument and score, I developed a sonic archive by striking its surfaces with bamboo, metal, and plastic implements. Photographs of the studio floor were collaged into layered graphic scores, informing compositional choices of rhythm, pitch, and timbre. Installed through wheat-pasted imagery and sound, the work translates architectural marks into musical structure, extending discourse on spatial notation and the performative potential of built environments.
