When I bought the Yamaha XT250 I was excited to start riding again. The problem I didn't think through well enough was the fact I just bought a bike with everything I hated from 30 years ago. It had a carburetor, manual choke, cold blooded, no gas gauge, had to switch from main tank to reserve tank when it was running out of gas and had to shut the petcock to the off position after a ride. You get the point.
When I bought the BMW G310R I did away with all the negatives of the XT250. Yes, I have a gas gauge, fuel injection, no more turning the gas petcock on and off, I have a clock on the dash panel and Yes! ABS Brakes with braided steel brake lines. I have fully embraced the future and I'll never go back.
