Once the fastest light attack ship of the Ekkidonian fleet it was named for its lord's house. Incredibly light armament and arms make it almost useless in a straight fight however for stealth and scouting it goes unrivaled among those other ships of the fleet. Due to its incredibly low crew need it was target by the party and stolen so that they could warn Tarrik of his upcoming fate.
Flagship of Targoth and Captained by the brother of Tarrik, Admiral Nemiel Torgaddon. It is the largest and heaviest of all the ships of the fleet its weapons feared by pirates, cities, and sea beasts alike. Several generations old it was considered for retirement until it was refitted and proven to be one of the staple forces of the Targoth Fleet.
Until recently the flagship of Ekkidon captained by the Lord Sedirae it IS second in power only to The Greataxe. While weaker than its rival ship it Is outfitted with Ancient Elven iron worked into the hull making it much faster and more agile than most other ships of its size. It is now the flagship of the free navy of Ekkidon.
The ancestorial seat of house Neven situated in the middle of prime gold mining country. Recently much of the family has moved into Ekkidon due to the area being less profitable without the gold. With this happening much of the Castle fell into misuse and is on the brink of Ruin. Recently the entire family has returned, and the castle is bustling with life for the first time since the founding of Ekkidon. With the founding of the new mines the Castle promises to become an influential player in the region yet again.
The ancient weapon of the former High House Neven and a rumored legend of the region from long before the founding of Targoth, Ekkidon, Moonflect or any other city of the region. Its creator is unknown to any but the family and to the untrained eye seems only to be a masterfully crafted hunk of solid gold formed into the shape of a weapon. The truth of the matter is that a forgotten entity fueled by greed was soul forged into a corrupted Kyber Crystal containing not only its power but also its thirst for wealth. Since the founding of House Neven long have its sons paid "The Swords Tax" with its consuming gold every year under threat of breaking free. However as long as it is held within the sword its power grows as a weapon with each once of wealth consumed.
The Halfsunk was once a vessel of the fleet of Barcelona a proud patrol ship with an even more proud crew. One day the order came to sink a trade ship that had skimmed on its tariffs. Rather than sink the ship the Crew led by Captain Kagan boarded and spoke with the other ships Captain. It was there that they learned the truth of matters that it was a ship of innocent refugees from a far-off conflict that the city didn't want to deal with. Rather than deal with the potential fallout of the city finding out the navy was ordered to fire on and sink both ships. The refugee ship was lost, and it was thought that the Halfsunk was as well, but it slunk away and with the help of an unlikely new ally it was saved. This was just the first of many stories of the ship going down.
Long ago the was a whale that swam the depths, and he swam with and loved the god of the sea. He bore no hostility and gave an aura of peace wherever he went. He would ask travelers his questions and share with them his bounties, wisdom and friendship. The first player to answer his riddles will get one of these things, only answer one. He has a friend his friend is four letters long, his friend can be seen in the sky, his friend is the ocean, his friend is the sea, who is he friends to? The first of the sentient rats Cappadocious is the father to Agustus and claims the title of Rat King. Cappadocious is said to have gained this power in a fashion somewhat akin to that of the Gophers with magic and anti-divine force emanating from the Great Lake. It is known that a knight of the beast Vinchenso capitalized upon this and became the master of the Rat race, but to Cappadocious he was but a pawn as Cappadocious had existed far before his birth. It is unknown how old he might just be.
In a forgotten age long past when the gods did combat with the Elementals and the Material and elemental planes were much closer a curse was born. In an unlikely and insane agreement between the Elementals and the newly sentient gophers of the mountain several of the gopher family heads were chosen to partner with and foster elemental magic that would be passed down their line. This led the Gophers to gather in these magically endowed clans and build vast cities on the Great Mountain below the dragons but still out of the direct ire of the Gods. When the war dragged to a close in favor of the gods, they punished the gophers for aiding the gods. This punishment came in the form of changing their clan heads into horrible beasts never before seen. These beasts kept the magics they were blessed with in a horrible way, becoming Elemental Tarique's, insane and hellbent on the destruction of their respective clans.
Long ago there was a human who was the greatest caster of his time. An advisor to kings across the continent, before one day becoming the court mage of the imperial city. He was named king of casters and he was as elegant as he was powerful. That was however ages ago, long and forgotten to most. Not forgotten however to the King Allobaster who resurrected the old mage against his will binding him body and soul to a cause not his own. Until he was finally freed by the inferno squad, allowing the remaining bounties of his fortress to be taken by the party.
Known as Sir Eternal and among the first of his specific delineation of frosted vampires he is of an unknown age and has served in known and unknown battles throughout the ages. Known as an expert diplomat his intelligence far outweighs his hunger. It is also unknown how, when, or why he has awakened. He is known to have the weapon of the first Deathfrost Vampire, the Eternal Ice Blade. The Blade is now completely indestructible and infused with the lifeforce of countless victims. It is quite likely a blade of such powerful ice affinity that it rivals even that of the armory of Levistus.
A master of battle in service to the devil Vash feared throughout the frozen plane as a master or torture so vile even those of hell fear him. Some say that Danathar could rule a castle and domain of his own so it is unsure why he is so willing to serve Vash. He might even be one of the reasons Vash can rule so unquestionably. In the long time absence of Vash he went missing only occasionally resurfacing in tales of death and vile pain upon those foolish enough to challenge him.
An arcane master and studious man of many theologies Torza has come to conclusion that knowledge is power and the power of secrets stands above all other knowledge. Drawn in by the mind of Calix, the legend of Nym, and the shadow of Agustus, Torza has decided to join with the church of Maloghurst and act as a high priest moving to the beach of Golden emergence.
Arriving in the night with no precursor or information of purpose the Automaton Alphonse shows up. A construct willing to tell that his creator was an artificer of the southern continent he is powered by a core of divine energy that offers him sentience and a substantial amount of intelligence and sass. His glowing green parts might just be an indication of the god that he is bound to.
Centered at what many consider to be the heart of the continent the castle is at the bisection of the great river and the mountain chain. In the middle of the river on a diamond shaped island of elven stone sits the mighty fortress. It is said to have been created during the Age of High Elves as a home for one of their great Kings of old but there is no proof of such legends. As for the house that rules it, they are shrouded in similar legends of grandeur with the possibility that they were the very first of all High Elves. While that could never be completely proven what can be proven is that they were once the imperial family, and it was not through their weakness that they lost the distinction but through a delicate and private alliance with the dragons of the order of scale and a series of very shocking weddings between the two.
Quinzstar the Ancient Elven god of Death. With the divinity and belief stripped away the ancient elven gods were slaughtered by their followers with no mercy shown. With the rise of a god war, he believes now is the time to strike and has been planning to use the deaths of the war to ascend again to fight his natural enemy the Raven Queen.
Located on its own tract of land outside any village or city is the small family Hillsfort and their fortress on the hill. Many generations ago the family settled on the location and built a Modest house atop the hill with the intent of making a small distillery underneath. After the passing of a few generations the house had expanded to be larger with smaller houses forming around it. With each new generation new ideas were introduced, and new things pioneered from Ale brewery to stout Whiskey, to teas. As the family grew many thought a Village would form but instead Hillsfort was founded. The family over the course of four generations worked to transform the growing family compound into a small fortress on the hill. As the family worked on the fortress other work was outsourced and it is unknown to outsiders the extent, but some say vast stores exist beneath the hill now burrowed out by Dwarfs then later a nomadic Gopher clan known as the Vinyards. The Hillsfort and the Vinyards got along so well they entered into a partnership with the two working together to make the finest moonshines, wines, ales, whiskeys, teas, cheeses and more in the entire region if not the entire continent.
Descending from one of the great gopher clans of the Great Mountain they became nomadic after discovering their magic responded much better to lower altitudes. The roamed for generations until forming their pact with the Hillsfort and using their plant-based magic to do what no normal beings could on such a scale. Few of their number become warriors as they rely mainly on wooden and plant golems to protect them and the compound as well as the training given to all Hillsfort men.
By some stroke of likely the highest caliber of Mischief the flying divine warship of Gabriel was wrought into being. From below it seems to be the largest flying ship ever created as well as one of the largest collections of gold known to exist. It appears to have weapons capable of firing great and powerful spells with rumors it can surpass the ninth level. It is also infested with a crew and contingent of extremely versatile living steampunk constructs and golems. With the war at hand the likelihood of seeing the ship in action increases with each passing day.
Leftover from the glory days of the lost hold of Murturm, the line of Goldenspine was forced to leave the continent of greater magic at the dawn of the Age of Ancient Elfs. The lineage was forced to abandon their hold and their homeland, the move devastating their clan. They struggled to survive for generations before seeming to be fully wiped out by time and hardship. With dark forces stirring across the planet, areas lost to time are being explored and sometimes inhabited again. Due to the shifts in forces and divine difficulties a deal was struck between two ancient races that are known to have quarreled for millennia, this deal resulted in unknown concessions on both sides. The hope behind this mysterious accord between hidden races is to provide stability in the face of all that is to come. One concession that is known is that prisoners of war taken in a battle from a long-forgotten age that had been frozen in a time diamond prison were released. These prisoners are the last known members of the thought to be extinct lineage of Goldenspine. They are led by Durileack Goldenspine a middle-aged dwarf said to be the son of the founder Allrock Goldenspine.
Created during a forgotten age for a forgotten ancient elven god it was renamed and gifted to Floki following the Second God War as a gift for helping the ancient elves destroy all their gods. It was the main place of worship until his followers moved into cities with only the fanatical core of his worshipers returning to the ancient stronghold in times of strife and pilgrimage. Following their ousting from Moonflect many followers have returned creating a so called "Cultist City" and while many of its inhabitance were killed by the recent attack word is spreading across the continent calling all followers back to the fortress.
In a forgotten age full of Heroic houses and fortresses built to stand against evil the first hold of the House Dayne was built around a modest crater. It is within this crater that the material that changed the house forever was found. A comet had struck the ground made of a metal not seen before or since. The metal was prismatic in appearance giving off magics and waves of inspiration on how to harness it for those that discovered it. The founders of the house used the metal to craft distinctive weapons and armor for themselves to be passed down the generations for Heroes of all times. The house spread across the land putting forth swordsman of note in every major age of history until so many fortresses existed many with craters of their own and prismatic metals diluted through the years to create more items that the location of the true original Starfall was lost to time and legend. It is said by some that the keep was created in the Age of the Ancient Elfs before the age of Heroes, but it is said by others that no true origin points ever existed with the metal simply being the product of a long-lost family secret and the legend nothing more than that, a legend. One part of the Legend that proves weather or not a keep is the genuine article is that in the legend a true of heart hero descending from house Dayne could call forth from the crater the necessary components to forge a new relic once every hundred years.
A major religious artifact of the followers of Floki. Those that drink from the chalice can drain all their anger giving it to Floki. Alternatively, it can be forced onto someone changing any emotion the person has for anything into hatred. It is made of seraph steel and in the hands of the high priest can be turned into a powerful weapon that can channel a fraction of the power of Floki by absorbing all anger in the area.
Ancestral Hammer of House Torgaddon created 17 generations ago for the Warlord Torgaddon who ended his family's warpath and established the city of Targoth. To commemorate this the Great Blacksmith Agil forged the hammer from many rare and magical materials and gifted it to the new High Lord. While its value is virtually priceless the hammer is known to be valued at over one million gold.
Roughly ten generations ago a sword was created as a gift to Hillsfort by the crystal smith Alistar Blackmen. The blade of the sword made of pure diamond rippling with arcane energy and is said to be unbreakable. The Sword is a known treasure said to exist either on the hip of the Champion of Hillsfort or deep within with the ruler of the distillery.
It was discovered in his search to create a haven apart from the gods Jinsung Ha punched the crust of the planet several times several Millenia ago with the skill combo star each time making a perfect crater deeper and deeper. It was through these means he found a great swath of underground water that began to fill the hole in the crust that some say is as deep as the Great Mountain is tall. The Rumors could be true but many suspects he stopped his onslaught of combo star soon after the water began to fill in. After the water filled the artificial crater, he gave up on its use and created the Great Mountain. The crater soon became home to other beings wishing to hide from clear sight Including a vamporific household that has purified a path of water down to their home and lived in relative peace for unknown ages.
It has been discovered that through means of skill, talent, research, and magic the metals of the continent of magic can be condensed and purified to reach a more absolute and powerful state. House Vermouth of Caliban is a known practitioner of doing exactly this with silver. House Neven long ago knew some rudimentary information on doing so with Gold but was forced to stop when its mines became too dry and the Golden Saber became too hungry. Rumors say that this process is likely what makes Agil a master craftsman having spent several lifetimes learning countless secrets of every material available. It is likely as well that certain materials were created by condensing existing materials together or by adding magic, souls, kinetic energy, or any number of other things.
The Kraken Vorback is old. Many years older than one might think him to be given his stature as a juvenile. This is because Vorback and his siblings lived in fear of the previous master of the lake. His father Kraken Gallador who was undeniably powerful and controlling of the lake until killed by the Litch King. Once this happened a struggle for power went on as his siblings fought with the cities, towns, and knights of the lake in order to claim dominion. This worked for the Litch King who wanted the region weaker, it worked for Vorback as well who wished to bide his time and eventually be the only Kraken left. He wished to rule as his father did, without rival. With all his siblings slain and the region weakened the Litch King resurrected Gallador as a champion and took control of all the lake. Vorback hid himself away knowing himself to not be powerful enough to challenge the King but unwilling to join with him.
As many churches across the material began to stir, many declaring crusades, many seeking the eradication of others, and many seeking to protect their councils' allies there was a meeting between two powerful gods. Bahamut and Talon both lawful gods of Celestia met upon the great divine summit in conference with one another on the very laws that govern the gods themselves. The conversation was somber in tone for Talon knew that Bahamut was a close friend to Zaratros...he who opposed the very laws that they discussed. These ultimate forces of good, shared stories and opinions with Bahamut calling for change and Talon calling for staunch and rigid order. As the two gods spoke in the light of the highest Heavon Bahamut simply told his friend and ally that he was sorry. Turning in confusion to the draconic god Talon was struck clean through by the claw of a then crying Bahamut leaving him mortally wounded. The Eldest and most powerful of the Metalic dragons wept for his side was chosen...the new fourth council would have laws of its own to wright...once the war was done. Bahamut descended the great mountain and with him came his canaries and all his follower's bringing destruction to those of greatest opposition in an act of pure defiance before they cast themselves from heaven itself tears falling from the eyes of all. Thus, the dragons fell. Thus, the dragons went to war.
Created in the tunnels of the rats hidden at the Beach of Golden Emergence the Grat are a hybrid species of rat gophers genetically stabalized by a pact will hell itself. With the ability to progenerate at the speed of rats and still retain the intellect of the gophers of the mountain they have every potential to become a real help or threat to life on the Continent of Greater Magic.
The god of Mischief known by men and fellow gods as the Divine Trickster pulling pranks and playing with anything he can with no regard for enemies or friends in the face of a good joke. In the opening days of the Greatest God war ever seen he shocked his friends, followers, allies, and foes alike by being one of the very first to declare support for Zaratros. In the beginning he was thought to be doing nothing more than pulling another dramatic and insane joke, but he unveiled the golden monstrosity that is the flying battleship, The Everwealth. With its might and power he has already killed a god. Further shocking was his borrowing of the power of Asmodeus to smite Lugh and take over the domain of Luck cementing him as a major player in the war to come.
The proud founder of Starfall. While he might not be the house founder it was his finding of the prismatic meteor and oath to the people of the material plane to uphold justice and his code that spurred the house into the annuls of history. Once he made this vow, he soon became the first great hero of house Dayne dawning the prismatic armor of legend forged from the distinct material unique to the house and wielding a great many legendary weapons. Once he founded Starfall and decided the house should forever stand as heroes for the realm he introduced the process for adopting people into the family so its numbers would never be depleted fully by the forces against order. His contributions to the safety and wellbeing of the people are what brought the house into the forever shining light of the realm's champions.
Sometime in the very near past as recent as twenty years ago a mighty party of adventurers some with differences so great they should never have even so much as broke bread with one another traveled and protected the region as a party. This is because the party was willingly under a spell allowing them to do such having been freed of their familial obligations, personal differences, divine beliefs, and other issues by some force of immense power so they could protect their homeland. The party consisted of a Bard now known to the people as Narciss the Demon Duelist, a Barbarian now known to the people as Thalrack the Mountain Mover, a Fighter now known to the people as Remy the Hearteater, a Cleric now known to the people as Bedivere the Golden Light, a Eldrich Knight now known to the people as V the Forever Damned, a Rogue now known to the people as Mael the Invisible Flame, and a Sorcerer now known to the people as Ithamar the God Slayer. Their exploits expanded to nearly the entirety of the continent south of the great river and west of the great mountain battling vampires, dragons, demons, devils, and more...at one point even doing combat with a minor god that had come to the material plane to wreak havoc. Eventually the individuals of the party became too powerful for the spell and were driven apart to return home to their responsibilities the spell shattering after altering living memory of all those aware of the party concealing the names and identifiable features and equipment of each of the five members but leaving the legend intact. This spell was so strong that many gods and primordial's were affected leaving very few individuals around with knowledge of them, excluding the seven of course, however, with their disproportionate opinions any reunion is near impossible. The group was known as, The Anarch Posse.
Many decades ago, a devil came into contact with a powerful sealed demon via some connection to the demon. The demon having been sealed for unknown swaths of time had grown desperate for ways out of its imprisonment and offered the devil a deal to use its power. The devil offended by the idea of being weaker offered the demon a deal to use its power. For reasons unknown they both accepted the offer of the other and shared in power. The Demon of the Golden Saber and the Devil of the Ruby Heart took great advantage of one another so that they could both escape to the material plane. They brought forth great swaths of lesser demons and devils alike and while there was some infighting it was soon quelled, and the forces turned upon the Realm. For this among other reasons the Anarch Posse was formed, and they rode forth against the on growing threat. Narciss who never much acted the Hero among his group took a shocking frontal role in the battle screaming out at the Demon that he was the heir to house Neven, Liesten son of the current lord. He cried out for all to hear that the demon was bound by contract to answer his challenge of a singular duel and the Bard fought like never before with all his might against the demon. The demon had expected something of the sort to happen and being the way of his kind had arranged a way to cheat the duel drawing power from its newfound partner the Devil of the Ruby Heart. The rest of the Chaos Posse assaulted the fortress of combined evils with the armies they had raised to do as such with. Each member of the party leading a separate force into the fortress in order to seek out the Ruby Heart and destroy it while Neven fought the Demon. Neven was fated to die that day in that very duel to be used as a sacrifice so that his comrades could win the day. As Neven lost ground the army of Vinestra Sederae clashed against the Devil of the Ruby Heart in mass overwhelming it. Some say she was quick to shatter its power and before all her men she took the very heart of the Devil accepting the curse of the artifact so that the Demon of the Golden Sword would be weakened, others say she devoured its power with a great hunger in attempts to cast off her own mortality. At that very moment as its power faltered Neven knocked the Golden Saber free from the Demons grip taking a mortal wound in the process. The demon knew it had no need of the blade and made no move to recover it sealing its own fate. Neven with the last of his strength in the battle retrieved his families cursed weapon and hefted it high above his head chanting words unknown to all but his family and the demon which was drawn back within the sword trapped yet again. Neven fell to his knee's hands upon the sword ready to accept his fate but as he looked up, he witnessed a holy glowing light blessing unto him the power to survive.
Many decades ago, there was a terrible monster traversing the land known as one of the great ancient evils of the world, Zorah Magderos the Mountain Monster. This enemy was met by dragons, daylighters, and hero's alike as well as much more but it continued its path of destruction killing cites and petty kingdoms. The Chaos party clashed with the monster calling on the strengths of all its members and all the allies they made in their decades of service to the region. It was here acting as a champion of his god that Tarrik revealed his multiclass nature as being half paladin. Tarrik activated for the first time the great war piece that is the Warlords Piece bringing its might to bear against the mountain. As the forces arrayed against the great monster climbed its mass searching for weak points and ways to bring it down Tarrik drew its attention by swinging the weapon and its power standing atop a large hill. The great monster altered its path to destroy the petty Hero as it had a hundred and more others. As it was distracted it was weakened again and again its vulnerable places being destroyed one at a time. As it finally reached him Tarrik put all his power and divine support into a single smiting blow against the monster crushing its final weak point and driving it into another era of rest the world cursed to one day feel the reverberations of its steps again.
Many decades ago, the lands of the world were home to a race that forever battled the forces of the knight lead by Dracula. These were the ancient and powerful werewolves of old. Much stronger than their modern kin they were the size of dire wolfs or bears when transformed into beasts. They were feared by vampires and men alike. At the culmination of a great war of the knight, known as the Sleepless War, between the Vampires and Werewolf's it is said that Dracula had developed a way to make himself into a god, A Death Ruler, elevating his Dukes and champions into something greater than vampires, Night Lords. To stop this Orpheus came down from the heavens to help his beloved werewolf's breaking divine accords but receiving no backlash from any of the three God councils for none wanted Dracula elevated. The raging war of the night became more and more bloody with thoughts of casualties, collateral damage, or protection of the mortal populations of the land being completely ignored. The several decades long Sleepless War was finally brought to a close when Orpheus battled with the dukes lead by Dracula himself in the far southwestern lands of the continent of Greater Magic. It was here that Orpheus killed four of the dukes and grievously wounded Dracula with a spear of white oak known as The Moonpierce. Orpheus himself did not leave the fight unscathed and when the Anarch Posse showed up they did the unthinkable in order to assure the conflicts end. Ithamar leader of the Anarch Posse summoned forth a magical spell borrowing the power and strength of his companions and he killed Orpheus causing nearly all surviving werewolves to become as they are known to be now, lesser versions of their past self's, often hunted by men for the crimes they committed during the sleepless war. The spell used by Ithamar came to be known as....God Burn.
Many decades ago, stood the well-known heroes of the Anarch Posse. They were known far and wide with fame reaching every corner of the world it seemed. It was then that their enemies struck in the heart of a time so peaceful all had thought the lands could finally prosper. Every major accomplishment and battle fought by the Anarch Posse left behind those that served the beasts, monsters, demons, devils, vampires, and worse combatted by the party. Little did anyone expect these lackeys and henchmen would band together for the purpose of revenge. The forces without warning or preamble struck the stronghold of the Anarch Posse with great force. They were caught off-guard and without significant allies, and soon drug into the hardest battle any had ever seen. While in their stronghold they mad use of the items, spells, and constructs collected over their adventures and forever scarred the land for miles around. The once great fort of the Anarch Posse was nearly destroyed when perhaps the one of their number most worthy of the word Hero stepped forward. The mighty Dayne drew out a sword, Spell Damner, obtained from the very vaults of hell itself said to be able to cut through any spell for the cost of the wielder's eternal soul. He then revealed a ring, a final wish ring, turning to the rest of the Posse as if saying goodbye, he did the unthinkable slicing the spell binding the party together with the sword. Soon after the ground beneath his feet split and the fiery grip of hell began to drag him away to eternal suffering, but he had the ring...and rather than save himself he used the power of the spell that drew the group together and wished the rest of the Anarch Posse returned home safely with no soul living, dead, or eternal remembering the identities of any of them, save the group themselves with the spells power shattered and used in the wish its success was guaranteed. Following this the army of cultists, monsters, vampires, demons, devils, and more was without unified purpose and fell upon itself in a torrent of greed and chaos before its remnants were likely wiped out by the leaders of the region.
