My campaign will not use lawn signs or roadside campaign signs.
This is a deliberate decision based on environmental responsibility, financial discipline and my previous campaign experience. Signs require materials, transportation, installation, monitoring, removal and eventual disposal. They also contribute to visual clutter while providing voters with very little meaningful information about a candidate.
I would rather invest my campaign resources—and the time of my volunteers—in listening to residents and explaining where I stand on the issues affecting Kelowna.
As a CPA, CA, I believe a commitment to financial accountability should be visible in the way I operate my campaign.
My objective is not to spend the most money or produce the most advertising. It is to give Kelowna residents enough clear, useful information to make an informed decision.
Campaign costs will be controlled, expenditures will be carefully considered and all required financial reporting will be completed transparently.
I will not ask taxpayers to accept financial discipline from City Hall unless I am prepared to demonstrate it in my own campaign.
My campaign will focus on:
• Direct conversations with residents
• Candidate forums and community meetings
• Clear information through this website
• Unpaid digital and social-media communication including weekly Zoom "Meet Todd" sessions
• Earned media coverage based on substantive local issues
• A limited quantity of useful, recyclable brochures
I welcome respectful questions, different perspectives and opportunities to meet with neighbourhood, business and community organizations throughout Kelowna.
