My Five Priorities

Kelowna’s next Council must manage growth while protecting affordability, mobility, safety and quality of life. My campaign will focus on five connected priorities. 

1. Rebuilding Transparency and Public Trust
Make openness, meaningful public engagement and accountability the foundation of every major Council decision.

2. Housing Affordability and Responsible Growth
Encourage a practical range of housing while ensuring infrastructure and public services keep pace with development.

3. Traffic, Transportation and Infrastructure
Focus on achievable measures to reduce congestion, improve transit and make responsible long-term infrastructure investments.

4. Homelessness, Addiction and Community Safety
Combine compassion and effective support with accountability and the protection of residents, businesses and public spaces.

5. Taxes, Spending and Financial Accountability
Set clear priorities, carefully evaluate spending and borrowing, and respect the ability of residents and businesses to pay.

A Campaign Built Around Responsibility 

I will not use lawn signs or roadside campaign signs.

Campaign signs consume money and materials, create visual clutter and too often become waste when an election is over. From my previous experience as a candidate, I also know that managing and retrieving signs requires substantial time that could be better spent listening to residents.

As a CPA, CA, I believe financial responsibility should begin with the way I conduct my own campaign. I intend to run a focused, economical campaign centred on direct conversations, community engagement, digital communication, earned media and a limited quantity of useful, recyclable printed material.

I will not ask taxpayers to accept financial discipline from City Hall unless I am prepared to demonstrate it in my own campaign.
