Tobias Hagen is a Professor of Economics and Quantitative Methods as well as director of the Research Lab for Urban Transport (ReLUT) at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences, Germany. Before that, he held positions as Professor of labour economics at the University of Applied Labour Studies, as civil servant at the German Federal Ministry of Finance and as researcher at the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW Mannheim) and as guest researcher at the Institute for Social and Economic Research (ISER Essex).

His research activities focus on transport economics, data science and policy analysis (causal inference). He has conducted several research projects for government authorities. He has won the Dissertation Award of the Frankfurt Chamber of Commerce (2006) and the Publication Award of the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences (2022).

He is member of the PhD Center "Mobility and Logistics".
