Open Lab Positions

03/2019: Research associate, post-doctoral fellow, research scientist

Successful candidates for these roles will study neural circuits in the central and peripheral nervous system that take part in autonomic regulation of cardiovascular, metabolic and immune function.

Techniques that will be used include:

  • Mouse and rat surgery (brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves)
  • In vivo electrophysiology (neural recording and stimulation)
  • Histology, immunohistochemistry, viral tract tracing
  • Optogenetics and optical imaging
  • Cardiovascular and autonomic physiology

Qualifications and required experience:

Doctorate degree (Ph.D, M.D. or D.V.M.), required for post-doc and research scientist position

MSc required for research associate position

Authored/co-authored research papers and/or scientific abstracts

Research experience in in vivo rodent neurophysiology, with emphasis on optogenetics and neurostimulation

Knowledge of data analysis software (Matlab).
