Court reporters, you're busy. You need a proofreader who helps streamline your process, not slow it down. Here's how the process works from start to finish:
Email me your fully scoped PDF or MS Word transcript (not ASCII or .txt files). In the body of the email, include your turnaround time and any details you feel are necessary.
I'll confirm availability and terms.
I'll proofread your transcript, adhering to your preferences.
You’ll get your transcript back on schedule, with clear, straightforward annotations that are easy to review. It’s your name on the transcript, so the final calls are always yours.
If this is the first time we're working together, please complete a Reporter's Preference Sheet and email it with your transcript. (If you like, I can email it directly to you instead.)
For large jobs (over 150 pages) and rush jobs, please notify me in advance so I can schedule sufficient time. I will do my best to accommodate you, and I'll let you know if I cannot.
Regular clients: I’ll send an itemized invoice on the 1st of the month for work done during the previous month. Payment is due within 30 days.
New clients: You’ll get an invoice right after your first job is done, and payment is due when you receive it. After that, you’ll move to the regular invoicing schedule.
One-off jobs: I’ll invoice you as soon as the job is finished. Payment is due upon receipt.
Late payments: A 10% late fee kicks in after the due date. If it still hasn’t been paid, I add 1.5% interest per month until it’s cleared. I won’t take on new work if an invoice is more than 30 days overdue.
Payment methods: I use Wave for invoicing and accept payments through the method of your choice.
