The intent of your curriculum is the content you expect your learners to learn.

This will include content from the qualification you’re teaching, but also the enrichment, social and personal development, maths and English, work experience and other elements. All of these together are what we can understand to be meant by a curriculum.

The BDC 2022/23 scheme of work template has a section for an intent statement near the beginning. We're asking all teachers to include an 'intent' statement on their schemes of work unique to that programme.
