This was my Second semester working with Autumn Oak Speech, Hearing and Voice. During my Independent Study Mentorship planning for the spring semester, I wanted to focus again on pediatric speech disorders and bilingualism.
My sessions were split between Ms. Eshita, Ms. Shelby and Ms. Vilma, with most of my time being with Ms. Shelby for English and Ms Vilma for Spanish. For this semester, I wanted to begin my transition to Spanish sessions as my fictional case study involved a student who speaks Spanish and to get a better handle on the language. This semester continued to focus on articulation disorders and language therapy as most of the appointments were focused on these disorders with the addition of fluency disorders.
As evident in my semester presentation, I was helped to update my patient and therapy plan on how to treat him. In my presentation, I sit you though a short therapy session as well as show you how much progress my student has made.
