Semester Summary

This was my first semester working with Autumn Oak Speech, Hearing and Voice. During my Independent Study Mentorship planning, I wanted to focus on pediatric speech disorders and bilingualism. I had initially wanted to mentor with a school Speech Pathologist and was going to until some plans fell through. Luckily, I found Autumn Oak. 

When I called, they were very excited to work with me and I with them. My sessions were split between Ms. Eshita and Ms. Shelby, with most of my time being with Ms. Shelby. I learned/focused on articulation disorders and language therapy as most of the appointments were focused on these disorders. 

As evident in my semester presentation, I was helped to create a patient and a therapy plan on how to treat them. I had chosen a student who needed articulation therapy as well as language therapy as that is what i had learned and focused on.
