Installation

You may be required to explicitly allow the OS to open TitleDriver, since it was not downloaded through the app store. When you try to launch TitleDriver, you'll be shown a message saying it cannot open the app. Click "OK" (if that option appears), or while that message is still on screen, do this:

Depending on your version of Mac OS the procedure may vary: Go to “System Preferences…”  or  “System Settings…” > Privacy & Security panel, scroll down to “Allow applications downloaded from…”

Tod Nixon and click “Allow.”

Your first time launching the app may give you a confusing mishmash of windows. If you don’t have an external video monitor connected (in extended desktop mode), the black window in the middle of the screen is your display window "A". The app may launch with the display window blocking your view of the Operator’s window. So it may take a minute to arrange windows to see things properly. Use TitleDriver Settings > Display Windows to configure your display window(s) for video output.

If you plan on using TitleDriver only for its LiveTitles functions (i.e. you will not be using any Display Windows for projection of video) you may want to use Display Window A on the Operator's display as a monitor of the text you are currently presenting. In TitleDriver's Settings> Display Windows, click on the "A" display window and note that when the checkbox "Lock display window to screen number:" is not checked, the window's placement parameters appear, allowing you to place the window wherever you like.
