Golden desert sands and harsh whipping winds
pelted the small caravan of tireless travelers.
The blinding, blazing sun shone high in the empty sky.
No one spoke, but smiled to themselves while swiping
small beads of sweat trickling down their faces.
Camels slowly stepped across the sandy floor,
shifting their cargo with every stride.
The treasure seekers passed by grassy outcrops,
and allowed snakes to slither by them.
Trinkets jingled and bounced in their tin boxes,
making the only music in the silent desert.
Several members glanced behind them,
observing their tiny footprints fade away.
The parched party snatched their dusty canteens,
reviving themselves in the scorching desert heat.
The members looked up, squealing with delight for
reaching their marvelous and mysterious destination.
