Week 1
This week was our first real week. We finalised our SDG, chose our central idea, and decided on our lines of inquiry. Annabelle made the G-mail and we started our blog. It was an interesting week because this was new and was some of the first actual steps in the PYPx. The ATL we showed this week was communication skills because we talked and expressed how we wanted the PYPx to be. The IB Learner profile we displayed was knowledgeable because we shared our knowledge about SDGs.
Week 2
This week, we worked on the blog. The home page was almost done. It was a challenge to think of the slogan, and eventually, someone from another group gave an idea. Our central ideas and lines of inquiry were edited and approved. The IB Learner profile we showed this week was open-minded because we heard our group members' ideas and worked as a team. The ATLs we displayed this week were research skills because we started looking for pictures, and thinking skills because we began to think about how we wanted the blog to be, and what slogans and pictures to use.
Week 3
This week, we edited some of the lines of inquiry. We decided who would research which lines of inquiry and started research. We started the about us and wrote down why we chose SDG 6. We recapped the central idea and lines of inquiry so that we knew what we were focusing on. The ATL we displayed this week was research skills because we started researching. We also used communication skills because we talked to each other about our ideas. The IB Learner profile we showed was inquirer because we researched and looked for information about what we didn't know.
Week 4
This week, we created the art poster and edited it. Camillo also made another poster. We also looked for organizations and added fun facts. We also added a lot more things to the blog. On Friday, it was Good Friday so we did not go to school. The ATLs we displayed were research skills from researching and thinking and social skills from the creative thinking and collaboration of the posters and other things. The IB learner profile we showed was thinker because we brainstormed for the PYP exhibition.
Week 5
This week was the halfway mark of our preparation time. We asked organisations if we could interview them. One said that they could not. We finished the research for three lines of inquiry. We began two persuasive texts and one of them is done. We also began our action plan which is to create posters on how to wash hands for EY and PYP parts of our school. The EY poster was done. This week, the ATL we displayed was Communication Skills because we messaged organisations and Nurse Maria. We also created our survey. The IB learner profile we showed this week was risk-taker because we asked more organisations if we could interview them even if we didn't know what they would say.
Week 6
This week, we interviewed 2 people. We interviewed our school nurse on Thursday. On Friday, we interviewed a public figure. We also got more responses from the survey. Camillo continued the lines of inquiry and the introduction of the persuasive text. The IB learner profile we showed this week was communicator because we interviewed people. The ATL we showed this week was communication skills because we interviewed people.
Week 7
This week, we worked on the blog. We thought of more ways to do action after we saw another group selling. The IB Learner profile we displayed this week was balanced and the ATL we displayed this week was self-management skills because, for both, we had to use time wisely.
Week 8
This week, we began Mission SoapN'Hope, where we sell soap. On Thursday, we interviewed a person from the organisation, Pure Water for the World. We also began to get our materials for Mission SoapN'Hope. We also decided the On Friday, we didn't do anything for PYP exhibition except reflection. The IB learner profile we showed this week was principled because we didn't scam people or make the price of our products unfair. The ATL skill we showed this week was social skills because we worked with each other.
Week 9
This week, we began selling the flower and hand soap. Many people ordered, and we had to restock the hand soap and make many flower soap. We also continued doing the blog. We also began doing the pre-recorded video script and start to record the video. This week was stressful because we realised we missed a lot of things in the blog. The IB Learner profile we showed this week was Caring because we raised money to donate to people who weren't fortunate enough. The ATL we displayed this week was Social skills because we had to talk to people and promote our product.
Week 10
This week was stress week. It was the week before the presentation. We had to quickly finish the blog and we realised that week 7 wasn't there. We also had to wrap up the selling. We were in the assembly on Wednesday because of the flower bouquets. We were lagging behind other groups and we had to be fast. The pre-recorded video also had to be done. The presentation script also had to be finished. The IB Learner profile we showed this week was reflective because we had to look at everything we already did. The ATL skill we showed this week was self-management skills because we had to finish quickly and not stress out.
