Advocating for Inclusion
I believe that sharing my passion for inclusive education helps generate better understanding of students with learning challenges. I spoke at the ISHCMC 3E Conference 2016 reminding international educators to look for the uniqueness and diversity in students and focus on the CAN. I asked the audience to look beyond the rubric and rethink student success.
In order to keep up to speed with the ever changing nature of online education in the post pandemic learning community, I have recently completed the Google Education Exam and am qualified as a Google Certified Educator Level 2. I am also part of a Google Learning Webinar in Hong Kong in August 2020 sharing my expertise with educators in Hong Kong about using Google Calendar to support teaching and learning in the virtual world. I have also completed the Certificate of Psychometric Testing, Assessment & Access Arrangements (CPT3A) which allows me to assess students using various psychometric tests and write suitable and appropriate assessment reports for submission to examination boards where required. Some of the test materials I am trained to use are Woodcock-Johnson® IV, DASH, Lucid EXACT and KBIT2.
A lifelong runner & a lifelong learner
I am a passionate runner and I have learned that every run is different but with the same drive for personal excellence and reward for perseverance. I enjoy participating in different running races including half marathon in Angkor Wat, Almaty and in my current host country Uzbekistan. The pandemic hasn't stopped my passion for running and I have completed a 10km viral race to raise fund for children with ASD in the country. I have been coaching the Cross Country team for the last three years and I thoroughly enjoy guiding my students to run their own races and to experience their unique success.
Sustainability: Be the change you want to see
To make the world a better place has always been my drive and it gives me a purpose and a meaning in my life. I truly believe that we all have the responsibility to take individual action and create a sustainable future. As an educator who has access to hundreds of students everyday, I deeply feel that my responsibility to help promote climate literacy is unique and undeniable. Over the last few years, I am grateful for the opportunity to work very closely with a group of passionate student leaders in Tashkent International School to promote sustainability.
