On June 22nd a wedding was celebrated at the Roman Catholic Church [St Joseph's], Tenui, the contracting parties being Miss Muriel Hancock, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs A. T. Hancock, Te Kohanga, Tenui, and Mr E. J. Gibbs.
The Rev. Father McDermott, of Wellington, performed the ceremony.
The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming in a tailored navy blue costume, with a becoming velour hat trimmed with blue and gold, and carrying a bouquet of spring flowers and maidenhair fern.
She was attended by Miss Eileen Gibbs, sister of the bridegroom, who wore a pretty fawn frock trimmed with blue, and hat to match, and carried a bouquet of pink carnations and maidenhair fern.
Mr A. Pratt Hancock, brother of the bride, acted as best man.
The church was beautifully decorated for the occasion with white roses and ferns by Mrs and Miss O’Connor. The presents were numerous and costly, and included a handsome silver clock from the Tenui Tennis Club, of which the bride had been for many years a member.
