Committees

Committees are a smaller group of students in the Tiffin College Democrats that are working together towards one specific goal or task for the TCD. Committees can be created for specific events or can be more general to work towards a set goal like driving engagement.

Select Committees are ones that are temporary. After their specific task is completed they dissolve unless reauthorized by the TCD. Select committees are primarily used for events but could be used in the event an officer is under investigation to be impeached among other reasons.

Standing Committees are ones that continue to stand and operate until a vote to dissolve them is taken by the TCD. These committees can be used for tasks that never have a set end or are reoccurring event among other reasons.

Any voting member of the Tiffin College Democrats can join any of the committees that has not placed a cap on membership by contacting the chairperson of the committee you wish to join expressing your interest.

This committee was founded on 12/3/2025 as a select committee to host one or more voter registration drives in the Spring 2026 semester ahead of the 2026 midterm year primary elections which will be taking place after the semester has concluded. The dates for the first event was on 3/17/2026 and 3/19/2026. On 3/25/2026 this committee was transfered to a standing committee ahead of the 2026/2027 elections.

This committee was founded on 12/3/2025 as a standing committee to drive up engagement with the organization and work on recruiting new members.

This committee was created on 1/14/2026 as a standing committee to vet candidates who have been referred before the committee for an endorsement by the Tiffin College Democrats. On the day of creation the TCD voting body referred two candidates to this standing committee which will be vetting them against a strict list of criteria before either rejecting their endorsement bid or reporting them to the TCD favorably.
