Tiffany Ashurian: What is JAMS?

The Jacksonville Arts & Music School started with a dream to open an afterschool program for Jacksonville’s youth to come and create. Just like Tiffany Ashurian, founders Ted and Alexandra Stein felt that most academic curriculums in traditional schools fail to include creativity. They believed that the best way for the youth to learn how to solve problems and think critically is to foster their creative skills and abilities.

Jacksonville Arts & Music School or JAMS is a 17,000 square feet campus for the arts and leadership development in Jacksonville, Florida. Tiffany Ashurian believes that the instructors in JAMS inspire Jacksonville’s talented youth and young professionals to reach their full creative potential. The school’s mission is to empower the creative leaders of tomorrow. With this objective, JAMS provides a creative environment designed to establish trust, cultivate creativity, and develop leadership. Tiffany Ashurian believes that JAMS also provides its students with a combination of self-guidance, JAMS support, and instructor-led plans for the greatest fulfilling experience with the school.

The founders of the Jacksonville Arts & Music School embraced the ideology of bridging the gap between the students’ school and home. Through JAMS, they provide a safe and productive environment for the youth. Like what the people behind JAMS believe, Tiffany Ashurian also trusts that the ability to invest in the lives of Jacksonville’s future leaders is priceless to the community.

Tiffany Ashurian believes that creative leadership is one of the essential qualities of a modern leader. Creative leaders have the excellent ability to look at things outside the box and solve problems by seeing things that others do not. As JAMS develop their students’ creativity, the school also help improve their innovation, vision, resourcefulness, and imagination, all of which are excellent characteristics of a successful creative leader who are spectacularly changing our world today.
