STANDARD 8: COLLABORATIVE RELATIONSHIPS

This article includes a paper written at Trinity about the importance of having a site like Wrightslaw for someone who may lack the knowledge of special needs, offering a variety of resources.  

Connection: 8E) understands school- and work-based learning environments and the need for collaboration with all organizations (e.g., businesses, community agencies, nonprofit organizations) to enhance student learning; Understanding school- and work-based learning environments and recognizing the importance of collaboration with various organizations is crucial for fostering a well-rounded and practical educational experience and preparing individuals for successful and lifelong learning. Cooperation with organizations, such as Wrightslaw, can help with resources for those with Special needs academically, legally, and professionally. Wrightslaw is a valuable resource that provides information, resources, and guidance to parents, educators, advocates, and legal professionals involved in special education including but not limited to training, seminars, online resources, but ost importantly advocacy of rights for persons with disabilities and their parents.  

Learned: My biggest takeaway from learning about Wrightslaw is that it empowers individuals to become effective advocates for children with disabilities, fostering a collaborative approach between parents, educators, and legal professionals to ensure that every child receives the education they deserve. Wrightslaw is a trusted resource for understanding and navigating the complex field of special education law. 

Description: This is an example of a post from my Bloomz account. Bloomz is a communication app designed for teachers, parents, and students. It provides a platform for teachers to communicate with parents, share updates about students' activities and progress, and coordinate various aspects of school and classroom life. 

Connection: 8M) uses digital tools and resources to promote collaborative interactions;  Promoting collaboration using digital tools and resources is a common and effective strategy in and out of the classroom. Apps like Bloomz allow teachers and parents to send messages to each other, fostering communication and collaboration. It allows me to share updates, photos, and announcements about classroom activities and events, but it also lets the parents stay informed about what their child is doing in school. 

Learned: Learned:  Using digital tools to promote collaborative interactions with parents in educational settings can have several significant benefits. Digital devices allow for collaboration between educators and parents and offer Real-time Communication, accessibility, and convenience by sharing information. By sharing insights into a student's strengths, areas for improvement, and personal goals, educators and parents can work together to create a supportive and tailored learning environment.
