The human endocrine system consists of ductless glands that secrete hormones into the bloodstream.
Hormones are chemical messengers that travel via the circulatory system to cells, organs, and other glands throughout the body, maintaining homeostasis.
There are endocrine glands in the brain and throughout the body.
This learning activity will focus on the thyroid gland (in the neck), and how it works with the hypothalamus and pituitary glands (in the brain).
