Thunderbird NJROTC, Moving forward in an ever-changing world
Welcome Aboard to Thunderbird High School's Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Website!
Our program, NJROTC, is an elective class that teaches skills needed for life after high school. Not only do the students who enroll in this program excels well after high school, but they also stand out from their peers in either their college, workforce or military career. This class focuses on leadership and self-development, shaping the student to become the leaders of tomorrow.
To clarify the stereotype about JROTC, the student is in no way obligated to endure extraneous physical activities or to enlist in the military. This specific unit focuses on preparing the students for professional settings such as interviews, first impressions, and business environments.
Through our multiple activities and teams in the program, any student can find their interests from athletics, to studying, to just eating pizza with their friends. For example, for the more academic and college-bound students, we have tutors available at any time, Academic Team, Community Service Team, and free SAT & ACT study courses. For the athletic student, we have a Physical Training Team and Adventure Land Navigation Racing Team. If you are just looking for a fun time and a second family, we have the Drill Teams. For more information on these teams and activities, browse through the tabs on the top of this homepage or come stop by at our Unit located at the back of the G building.
We hope to see you soon! Fair Winds and Following Seas!
