JESSICA SPILLANE (Artistic Director) is delighted to be directing her 18th musical at THS. Past favorites include RENT, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, and NO, NO NANETTE. The THeSpian troupe co-advisor, she is also the directing mentor for the completely student-run fall play and children's play productions. Jessica is a six-time nominee for Outstanding Direction in the Connecticut High School Musical Theater Awards and has accompanied two THS students to the National High School Music Theater Awards as they competed as Connecticut's Outstanding Male Lead in 2011 and 2015. In 2012, she was invited to participate in the inaugural Theatre Educator's “Teaching Shakespeare” Workshop at The Juilliard School, and in 2015 she was a panelist at the Broadway Teachers Workshop. In 2014 Jessica was honored as a Free Speech Defender by the National Coalition Against Censorship and in 2015 received the Educational Theatre Association's "Inspirational Theatre Educator" Award. She offers up huge thanks to the amazing THS creative and technical team and her supportive husband and family. SHANNON BOLAN (Producer) is proud to bring you the 2016 spring musical. HOW TO SUCCEED is the 8th musical that she has produced at THS. As the Thespian Society’s co-advisor, it has been a joy to help the theatre program grow to include the completely student-run fall play and children’s play. She wouldn’t be able to do it all without the amazing production team, creative staff, and parents, and is thankful for the wonderful community that continues to support the arts in Trumbull. Shannon would especially like to thank her husband, parents, and in-laws, without whom she could not possibly make it through the month of March! Past production credits include: HELLO, DOLLY! (2015), RENT: SCHOOL EDITION (2014), CRAZY FOR YOU (2013), THE WIZ (2012), FIDDLER ON THE ROOF (2011), THE MUSIC MAN (2010), and THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE (2009).

MATT BRACKSIECK (Technical Director) is excited to be working again with the award winning THS Musicals. In addition to teaching English at THS and co-advising to the THeSpians, he has been part of past productions including: FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, THE WIZ, CRAZY FOR YOU, RENT: SCHOOL EDITION, and HELLO, DOLLY! Matt has also worked as LD for TYA’s production of THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, as well as technical mentor to THeSpians productions of ALMOST, MAINE, GAME NIGHT, THE CRUCIBLE, and CHARLEY’S AUNT. Thanks especially to Sam, Steph, Joe, John, and Cathy who turn paper ideas into New York City; to Jessica and Shannon for always pushing for perfection; and the team at home--Jill, Orion, and Maia--for all the support. JEROLD GOLDSTEIN (Musical Director) is delighted yet again to be working with the students at Trumbull High School as he learns from them every year. Jerold has been directing, musical directing, and teaching in schools and privately throughout Connecticut for over 25 years. A crazy spring, he will be musical directing MUSIC MAN, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST and A DAY IN HOLLYWOOD, A NIGHT IN THE UKRAINE. As an actor, he was most recently in FACE THE MUSIC for the Encores series at the City Center in NYC, and before that he was in the national tour of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS. He has appeared on Broadway in HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING with Matthew Broderick, Sarah Jessica Parker and John Stamos, and in the musical AIN¹T BROADWAY GRAND. He was featured in the national tour of A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM. starring Rip Taylor (standing in for Mr. Taylor) and co-starred with Dick Van Patten in SCANDALS at Theatre Virginia. Jerold played Chico Marx in both ANIMAL CRACKERS at Arena Stage, Washington, and THE COCOANUTS at the Actors Theatre of Louisville. He won Philadelphia’s prestigious Barrymore Award for his performance in GUN METAL BLUES at the Wilma Theatre and toured Europe as Bert Barry in 42ND STREET. FRANK ROOT (Choreographer) is happy to be back at Trumbull with his 14th show and is thrilled to be working with his daughter, Abigail, again. He won The State of Connecticut High School Music Theatre Award for THE WIZ and with Abby for CRAZY FOR YOU. Recently he directed SHREK and directed and choreographed THE WIZ for Bridgeport Theatre Company. As an actor Frank recently filmed an episode of VEEP with Julia Louis-Dreyfus and was featured in HELLO, MY BABY at Goodspeed Opera House. Other TV, as a featured dancer in three episodes of the HBO series, BOARDWALK EMPIRE. Frank’s last Broadway production was the revival of 42ND STREET. National tours: PIRATES OF PENZANCE, SHOWBOAT, GEORGE M, YOU’RE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN. Off- Broadway: BUY BONDS BUSTER, DEALERS CHOICE, OH! WHAT A LOVELY WAR and over 40 plays regionally. Frank was on the theater faculty at both the Hartt School and NYU. His proudest achievement is owning and running Broadway Bootcamp. He has directed and Choreographed INTO THE WOODS, FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM, SHE LOVES ME,

CARNIVAL, and 42ND STREET. He has also staged production numbers for the Macy*s Thanksgiving Day Parade seen nationally on NBC. Frank is a proud member of Actors Equity and has been for the past 48 years.

ABIGAIL ROOT (Choreographer) was awarded a BFA in Music Theatre from Illinois Wesleyan University, graduating with honors. She has recently appeared in Downtown Cabaret’s production of PETER PAN (Wendy). Abigail has choreographed Bridgeport Theater Company’s SHREK, Downtown Cabaret’s ANNIE, Illinois Wesleyan’s HELLO AGAIN, and Trumbull High School’s CRAZY FOR YOU (CHSMTA Outstanding Choreography). Abigail is also the Assistant Artistic Director of Broadway Bootcamp. She has studied with many of the top voice, acting, and dance teachers in New York City. Thanks to Dad for being a creative mentor and collaborator!

SAMUEL MALONEY (Set Design) is currently in Germany completing an architectural degree from Wentworth Institute of Technology and is a graduate of Trumbull High School. Previous scenic design credits include the CHSMTA nominated HELLO, DOLLY! (THS 2015), MARY POPPINS (TYA 2015), and RENT (THS 2014). Sam would like to thank Stephanie, Cathy, Matt, Joe, John, Jill, and the countless students for their commitment to this set. Sam would also like to thank Shannon Bolan and Jess Spillane for their dedication to the arts at Trumbull High School.

STEPHANIE BONT (Set Design) is thrilled to be set designing another amazing show with the wonderfully talented Sam Maloney. As a Trumbull High School graduate, Stephanie is honored to be working on her seventh musical with THS. Steph was the Technical Advisor of Boston University’s premier musical theater group, BU on Broadway. She has set designed shows including GODSPELL, CHICAGO, THE DROWSY CHAPERONE, as well as THS’s performances of RENT and HELLO, DOLLY!. She is very excited to add this production of HOW TO SUCCEED! Thank you to Spillane, Shannon, and Mr. B for making this all possible. Stephanie is truly amazed at all the hard work the cast and crew has put into this process and couldn’t be prouder. CATHY BOLTON (Properties Master/Set Dresser) has worked on both Props and Set Dressing for THS since 2007. Once again she and the students explored new techniques for developing props, set painting and dressing for HOW TO SUCCEED. Students researched period specific designs, colors and technology, to make sure everything on stage was authentic to both the time period and the characters. In addition, they learned about new materials and painting techniques to replicate many of the items and finishes. Students also played significant roles in painting and dressing the set. Once again, many thanks to all the parents who scour their closets, attics, basements and garages to help our shows come alive.

JILL CLARK (Artistic Design) is enjoying her second production with THS. After 30 years as a professional makeup artist, it is great getting to use all aspects of her Theatre Arts degree. Having Cathy Bolton as her partner in crime gets even better with every production. This show gave them the opportunity to work with new products and show the crew new techniques to achieve the mid-century modern aesthetic. They explored new paint techniques and new methods to create the illusion of the materials that you see on stage. Thanks to Mrs. Bolton for her guidance and her vision. Thanks to all the parents and students who worked so hard to take us back to the past. It's been so much fun teaching the crew HOW TO SUCCEED in this business.

JOE AMATURO (Set Builder) is pleased to be working on his second show with the THS Musicals building crew. Happy to augmenting his role as the woodworking teacher at Trumbull High School with his second show (previous credits include HELLO, DOLLY!), Joe enjoys finding solutions to the challenges presented to him by Sam, Steph, Jess, Shannon, Matt, and of course, Cathy. Special thanks goes to John L. for making sets magically appear, to Nick G. for keeping it light and to Lauren for letting him be part of this great production.

RACHEL TROPP (Stage Manager) is thrilled to be a part of her last Trumbull High School musical. She was previously in the ensemble of CRAZY FOR YOU at THS and FOOTLOOSE, THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, and CHILDREN OF EDEN with TYA. She also assistant stage managed during GAME NIGHT and RENT: SCHOOL EDITION, as well as stage managed for THE CRUCIBLE, HELLO, DOLLY!, MARY POPPINS, and CHARLEY'S AUNT. A 2014 CHSMTA Student Achievement Award winner for Dramaturgy, Rachel would like to thank her family for their support and also the amazing cast and crew for being such a pleasure to work with. GABBY TROPP (Production Assistant) is thrilled and saddened to be participating in her fourth and final THS Musical. In the past she has held roles from ensemble member in CRAZY FOR YOU to dramaturg for RENT: SCHOOL EDITION (for which she won Outstanding Student Achievement from the CHSMTA) to director of JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH. She has also been involved THS’s ALMOST, MAINE (Villian), GAME NIGHT (production crew), THE CRUCIBLE and CHARLEY’S AUNT (producer), HELLO, DOLLY!(production assistant), and TYA productions including FOOTLOOSE, THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, and CHILDREN OF EDEN as an ensemble member, and MARY POPPINS as the Bird Woman. She is immeasurably proud and in awe of her talented classmates. Break a leg to the entire cast and crew!

LINDSEY McMORRIS (Production Assistant) is ecstatic to be a part of her final show at Trumbull High. It's bittersweet for her to go after her experiences as a member of production crew for GAME NIGHT and RENT: STUDENT EDITION, production assistant for HELLO, DOLLY! and CHARLEY’S AUNT, producer for JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH, and cast member in THE CRUCIBLE (Sarah Good). She would like to wish the entire cast and crew an amazing show, and she would like to thank Mrs. Spillane, Mrs. Bolan, Mr. Bracksieck, and Mrs. Bolton for giving her so many wonderful opportunities.

JULIANNE MIRMINA (Production Assistant) is so proud of the cast and crew of her final show. She has loved every minute of her time working on shows, from RENT: THE SCHOOL EDITION (production crew) to THE CRUCIBLE (producer), HELLO, DOLLY! (production assistant), and CHARLEY’S AUNT (producer). She would like to thank Mrs. Bolan, Mrs. Bolton, Mr. Bracksieck, and Mrs. Spillane for their support. Break legs!

ARIANA ROJAS (Lighting Designer) is proud to be working on HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING. She has previously worked on the fall show CHARLEY'S AUNT along with TYA's production of MARY POPPINS. She has also worked on last year’s spring musical HELLO, DOLLY!. She would especially like to thank Mr. Bracksieck for being a wonderful mentor these past 2 years.

NICK GAGE (Student Builder) is in his Senior year and going into his fourth show as a crew member and set builder. He became interested in set building his junior year, during the spring musical HELLO, DOLLY!. Over that same summer, Nick worked on the set of MARY POPPINS. He learned how to operate the fly system during that show. Nick was promoted to head builder during his third show, CHARLEY'S AUNT, and is thrilled to be closing his senior year building the set for HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING.

GABRIELLA (GABI) SIGONA (Properties Manager) is a senior, and this will be her last show at Trumbull High School. Gabi has been working on THS Musicals for all 4 of her high school years. For CRAZY FOR YOU and RENT, she worked in production crew, assisting in the creation of props. Then for HELLO, DOLLY!, she moved on to become one of the "prop girls" and gained more responsibility in the creation of sets and props. Finally this year she is a co-props master for the fall dramatic play CHARLEY'S AUNT and HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING. She assists with the creation and decoration of sets and props, as well as manages other crew member in their projects.

AMULYA VYKUNTA (Properties Manager) is a senior, and HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING will be her last show at Trumbull HIgh School. Amulya has been working on THS plays/musicals for the past 3 years. For her first show, RENT, she worked in production crew assisting in the creation of props and set design. The following year, in THE CRUCIBLE and HELLO, DOLLY!, she moved on to become one of the three “prop girls” and gained more input in the creation of props and sets. Finally this year she is co- props master for the amazing comedic show, CHARLEY’S AUNT, and the brilliant HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING. Amulya aids in creation/decoration of sets/props and manages other crew members.

SRUTHI KALIDINI (Properties Manager) is a senior at Trumbull High School who has been working on THS Musicals for 3 years. In sophomore year, she worked on RENT as part of the production crew assisting with tasks from painting to building. In junior year, she moved on to help make props for the show HELLO, DOLLY!. This year she is co-props master and worked on the fall play CHARLEY'S AUNT and HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING. As a "prop girl" she oversees crew members working on props and helps decorate sets, along with many other tasks.

MICHAEL LEPORE (Finch) is thrilled to be playing Finch in his fourth and final THS production. Michael has performed with the THeSpians since his freshman year, appearing in the ridiculous casts of CRAZY FOR YOU (Sam), RENT: SCHOOL EDITION (Collins), and HELLO, DOLLY! (Cornelius Hackl) and has the singular honor of winning consecutive Outstanding Supporting Actor awards from CHSMTA in 2014 and 2015. Most recently, he had the pleasure of co-directing the fall play, CHARLEY'S AUNT, with his best friend/mother, Katherine Griffin. He'd like to give a huge gigantic thank you to Mrs. Spillane, Mrs. Bolan, Jerold, Frank and Abby, for making his high school experience infinitely more than he could have ever hoped for. He'd also like to thank his mother, father, and little brother for supporting him through four incredible years of theatre. And finally, he'd like to thank his unbelievable friends, who always made the awkward, skinny kid with glasses feel like family. Break legs everyone.

AVA GALLO (Rosemary), a senior at Trumbull High, is thrilled to be Rosemary for this year's production of HOW TO SUCCEED! Her most recent credits include the assistant choreographer in THS's production of HELLO, DOLLY! and Mimi Marquez in THS's production of RENT for which she was nominated for the CHSMTA award for Outstanding Leading Actress. Ava also won a 2013 CHSMTA for Outstanding Ensemble Group (Follies Girl) in CRAZY FOR YOU. Thank you to Frank and Abby Root, Mrs. Spillane, Mrs. Bolan, Jerold Goldstein, and Mr. Bracksieck for an amazing four years. ZAC GOTTSCHALL (J.B. Biggley) a senior, is excited to be in his fourth and final THS Musical. His past credits include CRAZY FOR YOU (Moose), RENT (Roger), and HELLO, DOLLY! (Horace - CHSMTA Winner for Best Lead Actor). As the 2015 CHSMTA winner, Zac had the privilege of representing Connecticut at the National High School Music Theater Awards in New York City, performing at the Minskoff Theater. Zac would like to thank Mrs. Spillane, Mrs. Bolan, Jerold, Mr. Bracksieck, Frank, Abby, "the Mamas,” Mrs. Bolton, and Ms. Clark, as well as the entire cast and crew. KATHERINE GRIFFIN (Smitty) is thrilled to have been a part of HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING! Katherine is a member of the New Paradigm Theatre Company’s youth board (nptheatre.org) and has been dancing for nearly 15 years at Ann’s School of Dance. Some past credits include: MARY POPPINS (Mrs. Corry, Dance captain), HELLO, DOLLY! (Minnie Fay), Arthur Miller’s THE CRUCIBLE (Elizabeth Proctor), CRAZY FOR YOU (Follies Girl). Katherine won a 2013 CHSMTA for Outstanding Ensemble and was nominated for a 2015 CHSMTA for Outstanding Supporting Actress. Katherine would like to congratulate the cast and crew on a superb production. In light of this being her last THS show, she'd like to thank all of the people who traveled with her from Deadrock, Nevada to the secretarial pool at WWW for all the wonderful memories.

ALEX LUFT (Hedy LaRue), a senior, is honored to be a part of the amazing and talented cast of HOW TO SUCCEED for her final performance at THS. Past credits include HELLO, DOLLY! (Dolly Levi), CHARLEY'S AUNT (Set Design), MARY POPPINS (Miss Andrew), CHILDREN OF EDEN (Aysha), and INTO THE WOODS (Little Red). Alex would like to thank Mrs. Spillane, Frank and Abby Root, Mrs. Bolan, Jerold, and everyone else who has dedicated so much time and hard work to making this production fabulous! She is sad that this is her final show, but is thankful to have shared the stage with such wonderful and talented friends. Break legs everyone!

HARRISON GILBERTI (Bud Frump) is honored and elated to be part of this outstanding cast! He is thrilled to be in his first THS musical! Harrison was excited to be in THS’s fall production of JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH (Green Grasshopper), in TYA Jr’s., BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (Gaston), and in the amazing ensemble of TYA’s MARY POPPINS. Thank you to Mrs. Spillane, Mrs. Bolan, Jerold, Frank, Abby, and Mr. B for this wonderful opportunity. Special thanks to Barbie Harger, his vocal coach for her expertise and wisdom. JACQUELINE MATE (Miss Jones) a freshman, is thrilled to be playing Miss Jones in her first THS Musical! Some past shows Jacqueline has done include BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (Belle), THE LITTLE MERMAID (Ariel), and CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG (Truly Scrumptious in the original junior cast). She has also won the Barnum’s Got Talent Vocal Competition in the Opera Division with songs from THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA and LOVE NEVER DIES. Most recently, Jacqueline has performed at the 75thAnniversary of the Klein as Christine Daaé with Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again from THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, representing the Barnum Festival and in tribute to Joe Patria. Jacqueline would like to thank Mrs. Spillane, Mrs. Bolan, Jerold, Frank, Abby, the Mamas, and the entire cast and crew of H2$ for being the most inspiring and spectacular people ever, and her family for their never-ending love and support.

JACK LEONARD (Bratt) is thrilled to be on stage for his fourth and final THS musical. Jack has recently been seen in CHARLEY’S AUNT (Jack Chesney), MARY POPPINS (Bert), and HELLO, DOLLY! (Barnaby), a performance that garnered him an Outstanding Supporting Actor nomination from CHSMTA. He sincerely thanks all of his friends and family for truly inspiring him each and every day. He would also like to thank Mrs. Spillane, Mrs. Bolan, Jerold, Frank, and Abby for making all four of his musicals at Trumbull High experiences he will never forget. MAEVE HEGLEY (Miss Krumholtz) is a senior who has been involved in small scale productions and theater workshops from a very young age. She enjoys anything related to the arts, and hopes to pursue a career in musical theater or film after college. The recent shows she's been in include INTO THE WOODS, in which she was Rapunzel, CHILDREN OF EDEN as Aphra, THE CRUCIBLE as Abigail Williams, and CHARLEY'S AUNT in which she played Ela Delahey. Maeve is so grateful for the opportunity to play Miss Krumholtz in her final THS production of HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING, as she is able to make the most of out her senior year here.

MATT BUCKWALD (Twimble), a senior, has the bittersweet feeling of being in his last show at Trumbull High School. He has most recently been seen as Ambrose Kemper in HELLO, DOLLY! and Angel in RENT, for which he was nominated a Connecticut High School Musical Theatre Award. In addition to serving as director of the Fall Play, THE CRUCIBLE, favorite past credits include: GAME NIGHT (King Kandy/Duke of Swirl/David), URINETOWN: THE MUSICAL (Old Man Strong/Hot Blades Harry), SPAMALOT (Ensemble/Dance Captain), ONE ENCHANTED EVENING: A RODGERS AND HAMMERSTEIN TRIBUTE (Featured Soloist), LEGALLY BLONDE: THE MUSICAL (Aaron Shultz), and OLIVER! (Noah Claypool/Swing). Thank you to Frank, Abby, and Mrs. Spillane for giving him this incredible opportunity, and to the entire cast and crew for a wonderful experience!

LIAM PIERCE (Wally Womper), a junior, is very excited to be in this year’s production of HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS! This is his first musical at Trumbull High, and he is a member of the Trumbull High Chambers Choir. Liam is very excited to be working with his friends and companions in this year’s production. Thank you so much to Mrs. Bolan, Mrs. Spillane, Jerold Goldstein and Mr. Bracksieck for selecting him to portray Wally in this year’s musical. He is very excited to perform in my first musical and hopes to contribute to next year’s production. Thank you to his friends and family for supporting him--he hopes to continue his career in acting. Shoutout to his friends Dan, Chris, Lucas, Sam, Matt, Colin, Owen, and Anthony. Thank you for the support!

ELENA KEMPER (Ensemble/ Dramaturg) is a senior, who is ecstatic to finish her time in THS Musicals as a dramaturg. Over the years she has been involved in both crew and cast for multiple shows; including run crew for CHARLEY'S AUNT, Mrs. Rose in HELLO, DOLLY!, lighting crew for ALMOST, MAINE, and Seasons of Love soloist in RENT. She also took a course in dramaturgy at Trumbull High that has prepared her for this role as a dramaturg. She enjoys research, literary interpretations, theatre, and wouldn't have preferred any other role in HOW TO SUCCEED. Special thanks to Mrs. Spillane for teaching her everything she knows about how to be a dramaturg, as well as her other fantastic mentors. She would also like to thank Martha for being her co-dramaturg and not objecting to extreme color coding.

MARTHA HEGLEY (Ensemble/ Dramaturg) is a senior and has been involved in all of the THS productions during her four years, most recently playing Amy in CHARLEY’S AUNT. Martha had the wonderful opportunity to participate in the first year of the Honors Dramaturgy course this past semester.This class combined her love of English, theater, and history, giving her many new skills and points of view. Being a dramaturg for HOW TO SUCCEED has been a unique chance for her in which she has gained so much knowledge and appreciation for the show. She would like to thank her fellow dramaturg Elena for sharing this opportunity with her and her family for always supporting her.
