Why Am I?

Why am I I? What I am, is what I do. Why

do I do? What I do is what I think. Why do

I think? What I think is who I am.

Who am I? Who I am is what I see. What

do I see? What I see is a thought of me.

Who thought of me? A thought in me is a

plan within.

Who teaches the maize seed how to

become a stalk with many combs? Or a

fish in the sea how to grow well? All we

can do is influence growth, but what kind?

Productive or counterproductive?

Does creation testify that we learn by

seeing what others do? Can you teach

a child to walk with words?

How does the child even learn to

contemplate words? Yet the child learns to

walk and talk, like we also walk and talk.

How wonderful to learn to know who I am.

Everything changes with growth. A girl

becomes a lady, then an old woman.

Trying to stay the same, defies the law of

change. If growth is perpetual, who I am

is eternal.
