An Archival Bibliography 1989–2026
The small press has always been ephemeral. Many of the journals represented here were produced in limited print runs, never maintained a web presence, or disappeared from the internet long before systematic digital preservation became common. In some cases, the only surviving evidence of publication is a physical copy preserved in my personal archive.
Whenever possible, each entry links to an authoritative digital source—such as the journal itself, an institutional archive, a library catalog, or another verifiable record. Where no such record survives, entries have been reconstructed from original publications, correspondence, editorial records, and other contemporaneous materials in my possession.
Although every effort has been made to ensure accuracy, this archive should be understood as an ongoing work of literary documentation. Its purpose is not only to record my own publication history but also to help preserve the often-overlooked history of the small press, where countless journals, editors, and writers have made lasting contributions despite leaving only the faintest digital trace.

All three of these poems are in my first book Concave Buddha. Because editors Ana Pine and Dave Christy were deep into Beat culture they were able to publish pieces by Jack Kerouac, Ted Berrigan, and Robert Creeley. Charles Bukowski also has original work in this issue. Oh, Allen Ginsberg is in this issue, also.

My poem is on page 96 and is title "A Century of Animals" and my bio says it was my second accepted poem ever after Exquisite Corpse. Note: My two pieces in this journal are title "Robbery At the Cathedral, Robbery At the Zoo" and "Degrees." Notable to me is that they immeditaely precede Lyn Lifshin' s four poems. I hade read with her in the strangest location only a year before: a basement in Stillman Valley, Illinois, at a reading hosted by Christian Nelson who published Kumquat Meringue, a tribute magazine to Richard Brautigan.

Vaultonburg: after the storm/ sea glass sorted/ by the tide Selected from more than 400 submissions, this haiku appeared in an issue featuring essays by Amanda Bell, Liam Carson, Randy Brooks, David Burleigh, Bernard Pikeroen, and David McMurray, reflecting seashores' commitment to both contemporary haiku and thoughtful discussion of the genre. Edited by Gilles Fabre, seashores is an international print journal dedicated to sharing the spirit of haiku through poetry, essays, translation, and critical appreciation.

Note: SB Wright selected "winter bus— / the last seat / sighs under me" for inclusion in his ongoing A Million Fallen Petals series on These Haiku, where he offers close readings of contemporary English-language haiku published on Bluesky. His commentary examines the poem's use of sound, personification, and ambiguity, highlighting how the image of a bus seat "sighing" captures both the physical experience of winter travel and the quiet fatigue of the season.
