Learning this week
In Math, we had our chapter 1 test and we started focusing on addition.
In LA, we continued our study of narrative nonfiction and learned about compound words and sequencing. We also practiced asking and answering questions as we read and finding text evidence to support our answer.
In Religion, we learned about the Holy Spirit, Ascension, and Pentecost.
In Social Studies, we continued to learn about communities and how they can be similar and different. We also learned about goods and services.
In Science, we started learning about the parts of a plant and its function. We took a look at live plants to identify the different parts and drew a diagram to show how photosynthesis works.
In Writing, we reviewed the necessary strokes for cursive including uphill, overhill, and sidestroke.
In Grammar, we took our chapter 1 test and began chapter 2 which will focus on nouns. We learned about common versus proper nouns as well as singular and plural nouns.

In Math, we are reviewing money and learning how to make change and to compare and round money.
In LA, we are working on our Gary the Dreamer project. Students have been busy editing and working on their final copy.
In Religion, we learned about the second coming along with heaven and the last judgement.
In Social Studies, we learned about what a community is.
In Science,
In Writing, we finished our review of D'Nealian manuscript.
In Grammar, we learned about subjects and predicates.
